Hey guys how is it going? By now you should be grasping my blog's content, right? I tend to avoid serious or negative stuff and try to make everything as interesting as possible, unless it is very large-scale and I care about it a lot, like Earth-Day. So, in this post, I should be talking about Mother's Day! Not Mother's Day in general but the present I made for my Mom! (YAY! I AM EGOISTIC!)
Initial Idea: 5 flowers tied into a 3-D heart shape with strings.
I bought 5 flowers on Saturday, came back with it, fill up a bottle with water and left the flowers in it near a window until Sunday. (I actually left them on the carpet but the bottle fell on its own,(seriously), spilling water all over the carpet.) Then today I took the flower out,(they still have not being cut at all, BTW) got some needles and strings and did something crazy with them,(No, not going on a mad killing spree with a needle.)I poke the needle with string through the stem of the flower. I struggled with the strings and trying to keep the flower upright and poking needle through the flower for 1 hour.
2nd Idea: 5 cut flowers tied into a 3-D heart shape with string, on a platform made of ice cream stick.
Pretty self explanatory, ay? I got some ice-cream stick, arranged two layers, glued them together. Then, I cut the flowers, fumbled with them for a while, realising again that they still cannot stand on their own as white glue ages long to dry.
3rd Idea: (I don't know how did I get this Idea.) 4 flowers tied into a 3-D heart shape with string and secured into position with needles, on a platform made of ice cream stick.
This is by far the most ridiculous thing I did with a needle, I hammered 4 of them into the platform and eventually ended up with 2/3 of the needle on the underside of the platform.
I pulled the needles out again, place the stem in position, and hammered the needles into the stem, into the platform. Now, the flowers are all secured in position but the flower head is not going down enough to form a heart shape and the flowers can freely spin 360 degree.
4th Idea: 4 flowers tied into a 3-D heart shape with string and secured into position with needles, on a platform made of ice cream stick and the flower head is being pulled down by a string tied to it with the other end of the string tied to the needle.
And that is exactly what I did, now, they form a heart shape more or less but they can still spin freely.
5th Idea:4 flowers tied into a 3-D heart shape with string and secured into position with needles, on a platform made of ice cream stick and the flower head is being pulled down by a string tied to it with the other end of the string tied to the needle. The 1 flower left is secured in the central of the platform with a big needle hammered in from the underside. The part where all the flowers meet is tied together.
You get the idea. And by now, I noticed that the strings pulling the flowers down were unnecessary as the central flower is securing their position, but still does not solve the problem of spinning.
6th Idea:4 flowers tied into a 3-D heart shape with string and secured into position with needles, on a platform made of ice cream stick The 1 flower left is secured in the central of the platform with a big needle hammered in from the underside. The part where all the flowers meet is tied together.
The spinning problem is still not solved....
7th Idea:4 flowers tied into a 3-D heart shape with string and secured into position with needles, on a platform made of ice cream stick The 1 flower left is secured in the central of the platform with a big needle hammered in from the underside. The part where all the flowers meet is tied together. Needles were used to poke through the stems at the side along with the central stem.
This is pretty hard to explain, you will get the idea when you see the picture. Then my dad suggest me to write something on it.
8th Idea: 4 flowers tied into a 3-D heart shape with string and secured into position with needles, on a platform made of ice cream stick The 1 flower left is secured in the central of the platform with a big needle hammered in from the underside. The part where all the flowers meet is tied together. Needles were used to poke through the stems at the side along with the central stem. The petals in the flower in the middle were spread out by hand and a message was place in it.
YAY! Photo time! Now you will get what I mean!
Click on the picture, you will get what I am trying to say the whole time. Believe it or not, I actually made this with next to no or NO planning at the start! Sorry, I am not that good at describing stuff. And plus, a picture is worth a thousand word, YAY TECHNOLOGY!!!!
Cheers,
