Hi all,

Remember the Mindstorm NXT Creations I promised to show you guys? Well here it is! But first, this is a photo of my Mindstorm NXT Set!

Looks like a bunch of crap and stuff, right? Right! They are a bunch of crap and stuff, but with a manual, hand, and an incredible amount of free time, those small craps becomes a big crap!

Here is its entry on my short-attention-spanned journal.

My first official creation! SPIKE!
It is Spike the scorpion! Able to climb walls and shoot deadly corrosive poison! Not really... The claws are just for decorations purposes and they do nothing except getting in its own way. The tail, however, can shoot out and retract. The tail uses Motor A and it will move 70 degree for the tail head which is the touch sensor, to attack just in front of the head. It work like this.
First, it would "walk" for about 3 seconds, then it will scan for anything in its path within the range of 15cm. The head is actually a ultrasonic sensor. If there is an object within the range of 15 cm, Motor A will activate, sending the tail shooting in front. Here is when the touch sensor come in, when the touch sensor hit something, the tail will immediately retract, if it doesn't, it will land on the ground and the tail will retract anyway. Then, it will turn 90 degree left and continue "walking" on.
Some problems and adjustment are that it move really slow and that turning is not its strong point. An adjustment had to be made with the ultrasonic sensor. The original version called the head to facing 45 degree upwards instead of parallel to the ground. This thus messes up the distance from an obstacle it obtains from the scanning, some obstacles which are too short will also be missed. It works fine after the adjustment. Another problem was that some obstacles might just be out of range for the trigger range. Therefore Spike will move forward for another 3 second and it will knock into the obstacle and look very stupid as the legs moved on and on while the head is forced against the obstacle before it does another scan and realise that something was in its way. This problem was never solved.
Total-5.5/10
Building complexity-5/10
Program complexity-5.5/10
Entertainment-6/10
Adaptation-6/10

Hi all,

As you can tell from my blog skin, I AM A NINTENDO FAN!!! I have been playing from Gameboy to Gameboy Advance Sp to Nintendo Ds. And I love all Mario's game! Anyway, here are two videos that are both got to do with Nintendo and funny! Enjoy!

Warning! Spoilers in white, view them at your own risks!
This video is about a guy who came back with his new wii! Only to discover that "All assembly are required. After reading the instruction manual which light up the fire in his soul, he started working on it and finally created a wii out lego bricks!

Guess What?: SPOILERS IN WHITE! VIEW THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK!
This video is about a good guy with a white wii controller controling an ice cream seller and spreading the joys of the world(more or less), then came a evil black man whose black wii controller out-controlled the white guy's controller. He made the ice-cream seller do evil things(mostly stupid things). The white guy then challenged and defeated the black guy, erasing him. Him then decided that the ice-cream seller should make his own decision and passed his own controller to him.
I AM A NINTENDO FAN!!!

Cheers,
Ziying

Hi all,

Today I open a new label called: "Stuff about me". It is basically about what I did and what my room look like. No, I DO NOT HAVE A EGOISTIC STREAK, AND I AM NOT GETTING SELF-CENTERED, it is just that I can't come up with any better name for the label. Maybe you can help me out? Anyway, this is the latest one.
I got a Mindstorm NXT when it was about the end of 2008, actually I was gonna get a PSP but I suddenly felt that a Mindstorm will be cheaper and more fun. So my parents bought me one. It is like $100 more than a PSP, ironic huh. Anyway, I started messing around with the parts during the December Holiday and made about 3 creations. I will be posting about them in the othere posts. But now the mindstorm NXT is safely kept in the closet, along with my other short-attention-spanned stuff, collecting dust. I shall be posting about them in the next post.

Cheers,
Ziying

Thought deeply about where can't you enter a mirror in K1.
My conclusion? Because the other guy in the mirror will block you with the same body parts that you try to enter the mirror with... And still now I still believe in it...
Spent my childhood dismantling stuff. I think would be spending the rest of my life wondering how to fix them back together...
"Invested" most of my pocket money on comics...

Favorite novels author used to be Roald Dahl.
Now is Roald Dahl and Eoin Colfer. (It is pronounced "Owen", by the way.)
Taken a liking to Murderous Maths. Author's name? Kjartan Poskitt.
Favorite authors all seem to have a unusual name...

The time I got a Nintendo DS, I polished it at least twice everyday for a week...
Almost cried the time I dropped it on the floor...

My lifetime ambitions?
Be a Scientist(or a Philosopher?)
To eat a 冰糖葫芦. (Those you see in the movies.)
Building a snowman. (With carrots and stuff.)
Swimming in a room filled with candies where I can eat candies just by opening my mouth. (...What!?...)
Filling a bag full with candies and carrying it to school. (So I can eat candies wherever I am)

Now studying in Hwa Chong Institution, and racing in this crazy Mario Game.
